Welcome back! I hope that our entire school community had a restful break and are ready for a great school year ahead. The return to school is always an exciting, as well as a nervous time for many. Teachers, students and parents are always apprehensive about new classes, friendships and what the class dynamic will be like. Our first couple of days back with students could not be more settled and our students are to be commended on their positive start. So too the teachers for the professional approach and creating great classroom environments, and parents for readying your children for the first week of school.
We will continue to live within our new “COVID normal” parameters and directions from the government and our education department. We will endeavour to have school as normal as possible, and back to many of the previous ways of operating and being. We do ask however that people keep abreast of any rules or regulations that are in place which may vary quickly if situations change.
We start our swimming program Monday the 8th of February and it is important that families are organised for this to occur. It is a good idea to have changes of swimming gear, towels, etc. ready to go the night before, rather than scrambling in the morning to find them.
Thank you again to everyone on making our start back so settled and positive.
Yours in partnership,
Brett Hay

If you feel that your child is unable to swim without goggles then an explanatory note will need to be sent along.
Swimming Caps: For health and safety reasons, it is Department of Education policy for all students to wear caps. These will be available provided by the school.
Jewellery: For safety reasons, ear studs and dangly earrings are not to be worn in the pool. Sleepers are allowed.
COVID-19: Please note that due to COVID-19 requirements parents, carers and other visitors will not be able to attend Swimming and Water Safety Program sessions.
Playgroup returns this Friday. Janine Spicer and Sharee Bannon look forward to seeing you there tomorrow. New faces are always welcome.
Please note in 2021 lunch orders will be available all days except for Wednesdays through TnT Fresh It Up. Menus are available from the school office.
Changes to Term Dates for 2021
Please be advised that there have been some changes to the Term 1 school holiday dates.
The end date for Term 1, 2021, has been brought forward to allow the school holiday period to commence immediately following Easter Tuesday.
This means that students will not have to return to school for three days between Easter break and Term 1 school holidays, which was previously the case.
The overarching reason behind this decision is to allow for greater learning continuity for students.
The new arrangements are as follows:
Date/s |
Event |
Wednesday 31 March |
End of Term 1 (K-10) |
Thursday 1 April |
End of Term 1 (11 and 12) |
Friday 2 April – Tues 6 April |
Easter break |
Wed 7 April – Tues 20 April |
Term 1 holidays (2 weeks) |
Wed 21 April |
Term 2 commences |
With the school holidays falling directly after Easter, it will be an ideal time for your family to take advantage of the extended holiday period!
