As you may have noticed, (it would be hard not to), we have replaced and upgraded the fencing around part of the school grounds. This enables us to allow more freedom of play for our students, as well as the deterring of motorbikes using our site as a thoroughfare. We will not be locking the gates so families will still have access to our playgrounds on weekends and holidays.
It was a pleasure to attend the Hobart trip last week with our grade 5/6 students. A huge thank you to the parents who accompanied the trip, and to of course the teachers for their organisation. We had some excellent feedback from the places we visited with the Hobart Gaol saying we were the best group they had ever had through and an English tourist emailing the school to commend our group on their behaviour and manners as well. It is certainly a long day but it is a great experience for our students to participate in.
Miss Fish and I have had two training sessions with our small but dedicated swim team in readiness for the Tamar Schools carnival. Whilst we are a small team they do make up for that with their enthusiasm. Hopefully with a bit more nice weather they can all get to the pool for some extra sessions before we take on all the other schools.
Finally I’d like to thank all of our parents and community for your understanding of the school closure due to industrial action. It was not our preferred action, however the department made the decision to close all schools simultaneously. Hopefully a resolution can be found quickly and further action is not necessary into the future.

We would like to say a massive thank you to the parents who supported us on our excursion: Karen Nettlefold, Bernadette Fifita, Kristie Freeman, Jane Benson, Chantelle Clarke and Caroline Brown. Your help with our students on such a LONG day was much appreciated and helped the day run smoothly.
We would like to congratulate the 5/6 students who attended this excursion. We were very proud of how you conducted yourselves at the different venues, your lovely manners and how you represented our school to the best of your abilities. It made for a wonderful day, for all involved.

Yesterday we held our whole school colour run. Everyone had a blast and it was good to see students, staff, and parents coming together to have fun.
There is a huge gallery of photos from the event on our school's Facebook page! Here a few photos from the day.

Here are our Aussies of the Month for October. These students were selected because they uphold the Aussie traditions of mateship and a fair go for all, as well as our school values of 'learning', 'respect', 'responsibility' and 'relationships'.
