I would like to take this opportunity to thank the whole school community for your continued support in 2022. It certainly has been an outstanding year, littered with challenges and obstacles, but ultimately successes and achievement.
As I have mentioned previously we continue to build a school where opportunity abounds. Students are supported in a trusting and caring environment by every employee, parent and community member that allows them to flourish. Our academic and social outcomes for our students continues to be outstanding and we always strive to improve. It is only with our combined efforts that we are able to polish our “hidden gem” of South George Town Primary.
I would like to wish our departing grade 6 students the best of luck for next year and thank them for their contribution to our school. They are a dynamic bunch of students who will do great things as they progress through life. I would also like to wish all of our departing students good luck as well. You may be departing South, but you will always remain part of the South family.
Finally, I wish everyone a happy and safe break and I cant wait to see you all back in 2023!

Last week we joined in the George Town Christmas Parade. What a fabulous night! We had so many students walk with us. More than ever before! Thank you families for supporting our school and bringing your children along. Thank you also to Ms Hardinge and the grade 5/6 classes who created the props. It was hard work carrying Santa's workshop through the streets of George Town but we did it and we think we looked pretty good! All our effort paid off and South George Town Primary School won best walking entry!
Aussie of the Month - December
Here are our Aussies of the Month for December. These students were selected because they uphold the Aussie traditions of mateship and a fair go for all, as well as our school values of 'learning', 'respect', 'responsibility' and 'relationships'.
Congratulations to the winners of our end or year raffle!

2nd: $100 computer service - donated by James & Caroline Brown - Ebony K
3: Christmas box – donated by a friend of the school - Janne B
We celebrated the end of 2022 with our annual Presentation Assembly last week. A big thank you to our current student leaders for hosting the event and to our 2023 leaders who assisted with welcoming special guests. Both grade 5/6 classes contributed to the assembly with a performance and video.
