From the Principal
It has been a very exciting week for us in regard to awarding our very first Gold Reach for the Stars award. The Reach for the Star awards have been a part of the South George Town positive behaviour support program for over 4 years and are a fantastic way of recognising those students who continually uphold our school values of Learning, Respect, Relationships and Responsibility. There has certainly been a buzz amongst the children about who the recipient is and have been eagerly waiting for my YouTube video to drop. Congratulations to Mia Clark who is a much deserving recipient of the award. Mia is certainly a student who demonstrates our values every day and we are proud to acknowledge her as our first ever Reach for the Stars Gold award winner. Perhaps the next level for Mia is platinum!?!
I have been so excited to see the level of engagement in our Draw, Talk, Write program. While our schoolwide focus is on improving our writing, the importance of the encouragement from home can not be understated. Please take the time to sit with your children and be part of their exciting development in writing and reading. A small part of each day in encouraging the reading of books and our Draw, Talk and Write program can have an amazing effect upon your child’s literacy development.
Congratulations to all of our students who participated in the Country Gold selection trials last week. The sportsmanship and effort demonstrated by all students from all the schools was outstanding and a big well done to those selected to represent the Tamar Association in the upcoming Country Gold carnivals later on in this Term.
