Term 4 is underway and our students have been very settled and displayed great purpose in their learning. Term 4 is always busy and the start for us certainly is following that trend!

Already this term we were able to engage with our community and participate in the George Town seniors concert with Esk Band and our grade 1/2 choir. Our grade 5/6 girls attended an inspirational speakers event hosted by the Soroptimists International and were very entertained, we had a brilliant performance from Terrapin puppet theatre and wore red for Day for Daniel.

Day for Daniel was a starting point for our Positive Behaviour Support focus of “Keeping ourselves safe”. Classes will identify aspects that relate to them in regards to keeping safe. As a whole community and department, there has certainly been an increased focus on keeping our children safe from harm. One of those actions from the department has been the implementation of Safeguarding Leads within all schools. Our person is Mrs Spicer and she is the contact point within our school if you do have concerns- there is an outline of her role within this newsletter and on our Facebook page.

We are also well into planning for next year and determining our staff and class structures. At this point of time we will have no turnover of staff (the first year for some time)! We will however, have some changes in role and structure, which we will detail as soon as we are able.

We are looking forward to the TPSSA swimming carnival, the Hobart trip, Kinder and 3/4 excursions, Youth council forum, Tornadoes basketball clinics among many other events over the next few weeks. Please make sure you stay abreast of all of these exciting events.
