Have you been watching the 50 Gems of George Town? They certainly are great little videos showcasing and celebrating what’s so fantastic about our great town and municipality. I could certainly relate to the Low Head foghorn episode- the first time I heard it was one day after a fishing trip in my tinny and I was only a few hundred metres out the front. It certainly got my attention.
It was wonderful to see some of the fantastic learning and work our students have been doing in the area of antibullying, being show cased by the Education Department across their social media outlets. We are proud of our efforts in supporting our students in developing positive relationships, empathy and kindness. We know we will always have work to do in this regard, but our children and staff have certainly embraced our focus area over the past fortnight and continue to build our skills and understanding in this important area.
Our students who have been selected in the representative team for the Tamar athletics carnival are very excited about tomorrow. I know that they will represent us well, uphold our values and strive to do their very best. We wish them all luck. Go South!
Yours in partnership,
Brett Hay
Congratulations to our students who qualified for the South George Town Primary School TPSSA team! Some of them will be competing tomorrow in the Tamar Primary School Sports Association carnival at St. Leonards Athletics Track. Spectators are welcome to attend but are required to sign in and follow COVID-19 regulations.

For the past two days students from Kinder - Grade 2 were involved in the Delta Dog Safe program. Students were taught how to read dogs’ body language, how to react in certain situations and how to safely greet and play with dogs.
National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence
Friday was the National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence. Last week and this staff and students are working on the concept of bullying in an attempt to stamp out this behaviour in our school and community.
Here are some samples of work done by 3/4 Garwood and 1/2 Locke.
All tickets (including unsold ones) and money are to be brought into the office by tomorrow.
The family who sells the most tickets is eligible to choose either a $50 Bee Bop Dance Studio Voucher or a $50 NewsXpress George Town voucher! All families who sell 5+ books will receive a $10 TnT Voucher!! Tickets have been sent home with the eldest in the family. Donations of Easter chocolate can be left at the office by families.
Thank you for helping YOUR School Association to support ALL students.
A HUGE thank you to Sue from George Town Newsxpress and Tameaka from TnT Fresh It Up!
Last week, Prep children enjoyed listening to Green Eggs and Ham by Dr Seuss as part of their shared reading. They really enjoyed making (and eating!) green pancakes as a follow up to the book.
Just a reminder to parents - for the safety of our students please slow down in our car parks
